BREWING
The beer culture does not stand still because we're developing it.
Labietis isn't brewed according to the recipes of German barons or the traditions of our ancestors. We brew beer here and now, inspired by the diversity of world styles. Labietis began as a countercurrent to boring beer that has sunk into the shallows of industrial brewing tastes.
We're supporting local culture without falling behind global craft beer trends. Modern beer brewing is without borders.
PAGAN BREWS
The oldest archaeologically recorded beer sediments are 5000 years old. The oldest references - 13,000 years old.
Our inspiration comes from a time before beer had classification of styles and rules - when herbs and juicy fruits were used in brewing. History is enigmatic and we interpret it in flavors.
HONESTLY BREWED
Labietis started in an open space instead of a closed factory with the idea that everyone can watch the brewing process while sitting in a pub.
We stand for honest brewing and we're vouching for the quality of every ingredient, from hand-harvested heather to overseas hops or exotic fruit purees.

€3.07West coast IPA with a typical bitterness forward character. Mosaic hops dominate the tastescape with hints of lychees, mango and pomelo, complimented by the clean bitterness of Magnum, while amber malts keep the fruity bitter balance throughout the aftertaste.

BLACK CURRANT WILDLING 7,1% (375ml)
€5.09Fermented with Brettanomyces yeasts typical to the Senna river valley and maturated for a couple of months on fresh Latvian blackcurrant berries and leaves of the 2023 season. In the aroma the dry and spicy notes of the blackcurrant leaves outplay the yeast esters, whose soft mossiness slightly slows the screamingly thick and brutally tart juiciness of the berries on the tongue. Pleasantly spicy horse blanket reveals istelf in the aftertaste once the juiciness recedes.

€3.40A contemporary mango beer with all the flavor characteristics of this tropical fruit. The aroma is dominated by the thick fruitiness of mango, including the typical resinous notes, that connect on the tongue with the subtle bitterness of Mosaic hops. All this accompanied by an exotic sweetness with an aftertaste of a dense and sticky jungle.

Brewed with juniper berries and a variety of hops derived from regional wild hops - Kazbek. Fruity and resinous, with a lightly kilned malt backbone and a blasphemously inviting finish.

€2.86Traditional english bitter with a delicate balance of hops, caramel malts and yeast esters. Interlude of the slightly outlandish bitterness of Goldings and Galaxy hops is followed by a full bodied caramel backbone matching the fruitiness of english style yeast.

€3.30Historical braggot that has been found in archeological site from 1370BC in Egtved. The juicy bitterness of bog myrtle and lingonberries introduces the prehistoric drink, that is dominated by mild sweetness of wheat and honey, complemented by giddy notes of linden blossom and meadowsweet. The tart cranberries bring balance to this truly nordic tastescape.

CHERRY WILDLING 6,2% 2023 (375ml)
€5.12A unique ale brewed with Brettanomyces lambicus since October of 2022 and matured on fresh cherries at ratio of 1/3 since July 2023. The result is an ale with explicitly redish berry like acidity and a rich spiciness of wild yeast esters and phenols. All this in a carmine red with a penetrating fruitiness that belies the alcohol content. Maturation on cherrywood chips before bottling gives the ale a gently smoky sweetness with a pleasantly dry aftertaste that makes the glass empty faster than perhaps it should.

WITCH OF DARKNESS 15,6% (375ml)
€5.12This is a contemporary remake of a prehistoric braggot that was served at a funeral in Egtved ~3390 years ago. Using the same raw materials - smoked and roasted wheat, honey, wild berries and wild herbs. On the nose smoked and toasted wheat is surrounded by honey with hints of lindenblossom. Further the sweetness of honey is balanced by slight tartness of cranberries and lingonberries, as well as the bitterness of the bog myrtle. The pleasantly warming strength of the beverage together with coffee notes dominate the aftertaste of this archeological drink.

Bog honey 6,5% (without malt)
€3.12Dry mead brewed with bog myrtle and 5% lingonberry juice. The northerly meager tastescape of a bog is introduced by the refreshing sour and bitter aromas of lingonberry and myrtle. On tongue they pick up some residual sweetness from honey that enriches the bittersweet bog myrtle experience, with a sparky dry lingonberry finish.
