A delightfully strong mash of 2/3 honey and 1/3 dark malted barley, fermented with wine and beer yeasts. The invitingly honeyed and portish introduction is followed on the tongue by an explosion of caramelly sweetness, which is held back only by the charred bitterness of the roasted malts and the firm alcohol backbone, which turns into a plummy fruitiness in the aftertaste.
