ĒRKŠĶOGU MEŽONIS (GOOSEBERRY WILDLING)

A unique beer made by giving fresh wort to some wild yeast from last year. After almost a year of slow fermentation, in August we added whole gooseberries to the beer in a ratio of 1/4. The result is a surprisingly playful drink for its dryness and strength, dominated by a full gooseberry bush experience - woody thorns, sour peel, airy tail, juicy sweet berry content and seed bitterness in the aftertatse. The yeast esters of mixed fermentation add some smoked spicy notes and are the only real reminders that this is not a kiwi wine.
